The 2011 Trails End Festival will again feature a free David Mallett concert in Veteran's Memorial Park in downtown Millinocket. Mallett will play on Sunday afternoon at the bandstand at Veteran's Memorial Park. This concert is free as is all of the music that is made possible by our sponsors.
Dave Mello, who performed on Friday night last year, will be performing on Saturday afternoon this year. Dave's performance of classic blues was appreciated by all those who saw him. Dave is an accomplished musician of 40 years who plays 3 to 4 nights a week in Maine.
Returning again this year is the Maine State Dixieland Band. This group was the surprise of the festival last year. Opening the festival in the back of a covered trolley they continued to make trips around the downtown area playing to the gathering crowds. The band is made up of individuals from around the state who love Dixieland music.
Emily Guillow will return with more of your favorite classics and several new songs. Emily is a student at Hampden Academy and has been playing publicly for several years. Currently she has a recurring gig at the Seadog Brewing Company in Bangor, Maine. You can see her there on Wednesday nights.
If things go as planned, this year we will be celebrating the opening of the multi-use trail system between Millinocket and Sebois at next falls festival.
Stay tuned because, "It's gonna be BIGGER" this year.
The Trails End Committee would like to thank all of our sponsor, vendors and volunteers who helped make this year's festival a success. If you see any of the sponsors who donated money, please tell them how much you appreciated how their donations brought activities, music and food to downtown Millinocket.
