Trails End Festival Paint Out

Artists are being invited to bring sleeping bags, art supplies, musical instruments, etc and come to the Katahdin region September 16th-18th for a Paint Out as part of the annual Trails End Festival. Artists will be assisted in finding locations from which to paint the rivers and woods, along with Mount Katahdin, after arrival on Thursday evening, the 15th of September. There will be a nominal $15 fee to cover the cost of a reception and an extra $5 for those camping in the back yard for shower access. Artists will paint all day, September 16th, and are invited to show their work from 11-7 on Saturday, September 17 with a 25% commission paid to the gallery on any sales. One wall 9 x 50 feet will be dedicated to the exhibit and mat board will be available at a small charge for those who need it, along with assistance matting your work. Oils and acrylics will be hung without frames.
North Light Gallery will be open throughout the weekend, (except when we’re sleeping, but a bathroom will still be open) as will Maine Woods Gear, a hiking store in the building and films, exhibits and book signings will be taking place. Everyone is welcome to participate in the events. Artists participate at their own risk and must sign a waiver. You are welcome to camp in the back yard of the gallery or may wish to camp elsewhere in town or reserve a hotel room. If you need assistance with that, please call us at (207)723-4414. This is an astoundingly beautiful area to paint, especially with fall colors, and we at North Light Gallery would love the opportunity to enable your discovery of its beauty and to then show it to the festival goers, as well as publish it on line with your permission.
